Artist Word on AI
AI is becoming a bigger part of the design industry, and many companies are starting to rely on it for speed and efficiency. However, AI cannot replace human artists. Design is not just about generating visuals, it’s about intention, storytelling, and understanding people on a deeper level. Those are things that come from lived experience, creativity, and emotion, which AI simply doesn’t possess.
Rather than seeing AI as a replacement, I view it as a tool. In my process, I’ve used AI to help create mockups when existing resources didn’t quite match what I envisioned. Who Is Kimi?
Hello! My name Kimi Garcia. I am originally from California, but I moved out to Phoenix for college.
As the oldest of four siblings, I grew up in a constant mix of noise, responsibility, and energy. Somewhere in that chaos, I learned how to organize, adapt, and create, skills that now live at the core of my design process.
My world outside of design is just as lively. I’m surrounded by my pet turtle, two dogs, birds, and even roosters and chickens. Which keeps life interesting and unpredictable. I find inspiration in the small, everyday moments, whether it’s the rhythm of routine or the unexpected.
When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me relaxing with a good cup of coffee or cleaning with music blasting through the walls. I’m especially drawn to fantasy and psychological horror stories that build atmosphere, tension, and emotion. That influence carries into my work, where I aim to create designs that feel immersive and intentional, not just something to look at, but something to experience
